Rainforest Bengals Banner
We are honoring the work of Jaen Treesinger of Rainforest Bengals at the closing of her cattery. We came to know Jaen very early on in our breeding journey. I was enamored by how she captured the wild essence of the bengal breed like no other breeder could. Her cats were in my eyes, absolutely impeccable for which I was in complete awe. Looking back at the pedigrees I studied, all paths circled back to Rainforest Bengals. The influence Jaen had on the Bengal breed has been palpable with numerous breeders across the globe sending tributes recognizing sincere gratitude for her work with the modern bengal reflecting on Jaen's signature "wild type" noting it to be present on the pedigrees of their most "typiest" cats

Tragically a house pet succumbed to the virus in the Portland area when it was believed to ingested commercially prepared contaminated frozen raw turkey from a well know, reputable manufacturer in Oregon. Closer to home at the Feline Advocacy Center in Shelton, WA 20 wild cats at a sanctuary became ill and passed of H5N1. It is unclear whether their tragic demise was food born or a natural exposure.

Kitten IMG 8286
I get several inquiries every month from people identifying as breeders asking the question, "Do you sell breeding cats?" We welcome breeder inquiries with a "Preservation Breeder" mindset for general inquiries regarding our kittens. Preservation Breeders work to preserve the essence of the Bengal; from the wild look, to the breed standard, preserving the history of the breed without sacrificing the health of the Bengal.

Caring For Our Families

So often we are contacted by people who suffer cat allergies in hopes of obtaining hypoallergenic or low allergenic cat for their household. It is estimated that cat allergies are second only to dust mites in causes of common household airborne allergies causing respiratory distress. While bengals seem to fall on the list of low allergenic cats, it is studied and believed they have less of the Fel d 1 protein which is linked to cat allergies in humans.
