So many of our followers have reached out to us in sincere concern re: the recent H5N1 flu outbreak linked to commercial raw food produced in Oregon as well as the recent outbreak at the nearby Feline Advocacy Center on Hartstine Island in Shelton, WA . Tragically a house pet succumbed to the virus in the Portland area when it was believed to ingested commercially prepared contaminated frozen raw turkey from a well know, reputable manufacturer in Oregon. Closer to home at the Feline Advocacy Center in Shelton, WA 20 wild cats at a sanctuary became ill and passed of H5N1. It is unclear whether their tragic demise was food born or a natural exposure.
